'Battlefield 4' for April/May reveal, releasing next year?

By
Battlefield 4 will be revealed in April/May and released in 2014, Electronic Arts has suggested.

EA's Frank Gibeau told investors that the firm plans to unveil a new Battlefield in 90 days and that the game will be released next year. It's unclear, however, whether that means 2014 or the next fiscal year (April, 2013 - April, 2014).

"We've already talked a little bit about that we have a Battlefield title coming next year, but we're not in a position right now to talk about our development plans and our SKU plan long term," Gibeau explained (via Seeking Alpha).

"That will come in about 90 days when we get to show you some Battlefield stuff."

According to the time frame, a new Battlefield would be revealed at the end of April, or the beginning of May.

Earlier in the meeting, EA's John S Riccitiello said that the company would discuss more about its plans for Battlefield during its fiscal '14 guidance call in May.

During the same call, EA revealed that Battlefield 3 Premium has seen 2.9 million subscribers and produced $108 million (£68.4 million) in revenue.

It was also announced that the Medal of Honor series is on hold following Warfighter's lower-than-expected review scores and poor reception from players.

Electronic Arts will soon publish Dead Space 3, SimCity and Crysis 3, which EA says has seen a 40 percent increase in pre-orders over Crysis 2.
