Dungeonland will become an ongoing franchise, it has been revealed.

The co-operative action game, which was released earlier this week (January 30), has already matched the day-one sales of Paradox's 2011 title Magicka.

"Interestingly enough, this game sold roughly the same amount of units that Magicka did in the first 24 hours, so I hope that we have a great future together with this game," CEO Fredrik Wester told attendees at Paradox Conference 2013 as attended by Digital Spy.

He added: "We already have a plan to develop this franchise over the coming years."

While Magicka's day one sales are unknown, it is one of Paradox's most successful titles, selling over two million copies in two years.

Dungeonland sees adventurers explore a theme park created by the evil Dungeon Maestro.

Up to three players can work together to defeat monsters, while a fourth can play as Maestro to control the park's traps and enemies.

Dungeonland is available to download now on PC for £5.99 / $9.99.
