The MCV Excellence Awards, organised by the industry's highly respected trade paper of the same name, saw Nintendo wipe the floor with the competition.
The Wii manufacturer scooped the Grand Prix Awards, which was the top prize of the night, as well as top games publisher and best at marketing.
EA, Ubisoft, Sega and THQ were all in the running for publisher of the year, but Nintendo managed to impress the judges most.
Elsewhere, the best new Games Brand went to Guitar Hero, the top development team was won by Travellers Tales and Microsoft's Gears of War won the awards for the most impressive marketing campaign.
