The DLC will bring back VR missions, a staple of the Metal Gear Solid series offering bonus challenge rooms to test player skills outside of the story.
The PS3-exclusive VR missions for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will include 30 missions set in a blocky yellow virtual reality world.
The missions promise "an eclectic mix of challenges" for players, including stages where players will get to control the Dwarf Gekko walking eyeball enemy.
Pricing for the VR mission DLC will be announced at a later time.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was officially unveiled at last year's Spike TV Video Game Awards, although the announcement trailer was leaked before the event.
Developed by Bayonetta and Vanquish studio Platinum Games, the title stars Raiden and features fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay.
It was recently revealed that users who pre-order the game will also receive a DLC code to play as Grey Fox.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on February 22 in Europe and February 19 in North America.
