NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon tweeted a new screenshot of the game featuring the Batman villain fighting against The Flash.
The screenshot appears to show a new arena based on Arkham Asylum, with both The Riddler and The Penguin standing in the background.
Since both Riddler and Penguin appear to be part of the stage's background, it cannot be confirmed that they are actually playable fighters in the game.
Announced last year, Injustice: Gods Among Us is said to have a deep original story, taking place in "a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred".
It features a growing list of heroes and villains from the DC Universe, including Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Solomon Grundy, Nightwing, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Bane, Deathstroke, Lex Luthor and The Joker.
NetherRealm is developing the title following 2011's success with Mortal Kombat. In 2008, the team also created Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe as Midway Games.
The developers have dropped the traditional three-round fighting system, opting instead for a "more cinematic" single-round system.
Injustice: Gods Among Us will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on April 16 in North America and April 19 in Europe.
A Collector's Edition will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions offering a 25cm statue featuring Batman and Wonder Woman, unique steelbook packaging, an Injustice comic book and exclusive skins based on The New 52's designs for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
