'Tomb Raider' 11-minute gameplay video sees Lara use cover, parachute

By
Tomb Raider has been given an 11-minute gameplay trailer by Square Enix.

The extended gameplay demonstration sees Lara Croft escape from the monastery and make her way to a medical chopper having suffered multiple injuries.

The video explores the game's cover system, the way in which Lara can use the environment and some of the more action-orientated set-pieces and quick-time events.

Tomb Raider is a reboot of the classic series, where Lara Croft finds herself shipwrecked on a hostile island in a story that shapes her into the heroine seen in the original games.

Developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed earlier this year that the Tomb Raider reboot is not just a single game, hinting at future titles in the series.

Rhianna Pratchett, the lead writer on the game, has said that she wants to bring a "depth and credibility to Lara".

Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 5 worldwide.
