'Pokemon' TV app available free on iOS, Android version coming soon

By
A Pokémon TV app is available to download for free on iOS devices.

Compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, the Pokémon TV app will be updated every week with fan favourite content from a library of 700 animated episodes. An Android version will be released soon.

Available today (February 12), Pokémon fans who download the app will also have access to special features, trailers and movie events.

Upcoming events include a first look at Pokémon animated short 'Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade', which is available in English for the first time on February 15.

Fans who watch the short will also be treated to a sneak preview of 'Meloetta's Pirouette Forme', which can also be seen on the Pokémon website.

Unveiled during a Direct presentation by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, the games will feature more than 50 new Pokémon and contain a system called "Real Play" that "makes it feel as if you are playing with other players around the world".

It is likely that the two legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal (pictured above) will be featured on the cover of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y respectively.

Pokémon X and Y will launch exclusively for the 3DS across all regions in October.
