Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite details revealed

Published Friday, Apr 27 2007, 14:08 BST | By David Gibbon
Xbox 360 gamers in America looking to upgrade to Microsoft's 120Gb hard drive included in the forthcoming Xbox 360 Elite are to be offered a free migration kit.

Xbox 360 users will simply need to order an Elite migration kit, which Microsoft says will be free. From there, users will be able to transfer everything from their 20Gb hard over to the 120Gb drive featured within Elite.

The transfer progress can take up to an hour depending on the amount of data, although Gamerscoreblog reckons it took them about half that, adding that you won't lose any content from the 20Gb disc if the transfer is interrupted.

Xbox 360 Elite will retail for US$ 479.99 (£240.00 / EUR 350), while a standalone 120Gb hard disk will go for US$ 179.99 (£90.99 / EUR 130).

Microsoft has yet to announce plans for the Elite's UK release.
