'Wasteland 2' 17-minute gameplay video

By
Wasteland 2 has been given its first gameplay trailer with a lengthy walkthrough from developers inXile.

The video clocks in at just over 17 minutes long, with the gameplay footage starting at around 2:30.

It is narrated by InXile producer Chris Keenan, who offers an in-depth explanation as to how the game's combat, party system, and exploration will work.

The game will also feature a text box on the screen offering narration similar to the original Wasteland, which can also provide hints about the environment. For example, it might describe a fence that is falling apart, hinting to players that they can break the fence to access a new area.

Wasteland 2 is set in a post-apocalyptic world, and will feature a variety of regions including the deserts and snow-covered mountains of Arizona and the coastal landscape of Los Angeles and southern California.

After a successful Kickstarter fund, the game has been in development at inXile using the Unity Engine, with the original game's creator Brian Fargo as director.

Fallout New Vegas designer Chris Avellone is also working on the game, after the Kickstarter campaign reached $2.1 million.
