'Rayman Legends' creator, staff protest Wii U delay

Rayman Legends staff, including creator Michel Ancel, have posted a series of pictures protesting the decision to delay the Wii U version of the game.

Members of the development team are seen holding a poster pleading with Ubisoft to "Release Rayman," reports Eurogamer.

The poster features an image of a tearful Rayman surrounded by the words: "Release Rayman. Support Ubisoft Montpelier."

A speech bubble emanating from Rayman simply says "Please", while the background is inscribed with the original February 28 release date.

Rayman Legends was originally announced as a Wii U launch title, before being delayed to February/March.

However, the decision to release the game on multiple platforms has seen the Wii U version slip to September in line with the PS3 and Xbox 360 ports.

Going under the name Zeta69, a former Ubisoft employee expressed anger at the delay, having spent six months barely seeing his wife, kids and friends to ensure the game was ready for February.

Ubisoft offered an explanation for the Wii U delay, citing the simultaneous multiplatform release as one of the reasons.
