The clip, titled 'Evolution of PlayStation: The Beginning', takes a look back at the launch and development of the original PlayStation.
Sony is widely expected to unveil the PlayStation 4 at its February 20 press conference, with images of what is believed to be prototype controllers for the console recently leaking online.
The peripherals appear similar in design to the standard PS3 controller, except with a touchpad at the centre and a light at the top that is expected to function in the same way as the orb at the end of the Move controller.
Details on the hardware specs for Sony's new console were recently leaked along with reports that the system will feature 4K resolution support in line with a rumoured new range of Sony TVs.
Microsoft is expected to unveil its successor to the Xbox 360 shortly after Sony lifts the lid on the PS4.

Star Wars 1313: One of E3 2012's most discussed titles, Star Wars 1313's demo - which sees a bounty hunter cause havoc on Coruscant's seedy underworld - was running on a high-end PC and hasn't had platforms specified yet. LucasArts also recently shot down a listing that it'll be out on PS3 this year.
