Attendees will have the opportunity to go hands-on with existing and upcoming Blizzard games, participate in tournaments, speak with developers, buy merchandise and win prizes.

In addition to casual tournaments, the convention also plays host to the finals of various Blizzard eSports competitions, which will be attended by professional gamers from around the world.

"BlizzCon gives us a chance to connect with our players and share our latest projects in a very personal way," explained Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime.

"Members from all of our gaming communities have helped make this event bigger and better every time, and we look forward to meeting up and celebrating with them in November."

Last year's event was cancelled in January due to Blizzard's "jam-packed" development schedule.
