'Hotline Miami' confirmed for PS3 and Vita, releasing this spring

By
Hotline Miami will be released on PlayStation 3 and Vita this spring, Dennaton Games has announced.

Launching as a Cross-buy release, purchasing the title on one format will unlock it on the other for free.

The announcement is accompanied by a trailer (above) showcasing the title's unique visual style and gameplay.

Development will be handled by Dutch studio Abstraction Games, under the supervision of the original team.

Describing the title as "brilliant", Sony's Shahid Ahmad said that the firm was thrilled to welcome the game to the PlayStation brand.

"The intense visuals and pulsing soundtrack are perfectly suited for PS3 and PS VIta and we can't wait for PlayStation fans to see what Hotline Miami is all about," remarked Ahmad.
Dennaton Games had previously hinted at a possible PS Vita version, after confirming that it had entered talks with Sony.

Hotline Miami is an intensely violent action game available now on PC. It sets players loose in an alternate 1989 Miami filled with neon lights and a masked protagonist fighting against a seemingly never-ending supply of evil henchmen.

The game was recently updated to add controller support and an extra level, among other bug fixes.

It has gone on to sell more than 300,000 units on the PC, earning multiple game-of-the-year nominations on the way.
