During an interview with the EE Times, he said up until now he could not talk about 'the next step' due to the launch of the PlayStation 3.
Kutaragi said, "We've introduced PS3 in Europe, so now I can openly talk about future plans". He continued, "As a matter of course, I have the vision of PlayStation 4, 5 and 6, which will merge into the network."
A report in the EE Times claims that Kutargi has also made plans to cut the current cost of PlayStation 3, providing the designers of the machine with measures to slash the manufacturing costs.
The report went on to say Kutaragi is now focused on exploiting the opportunities offered by connectivity, stating, "The design concept of the Cell processor is the network processor."
