Famed for its best-selling series of games, the George Lucas-owned games publisher LucasArts has unveiled an original third-person shooter for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Fracture, developed by LucasArts partner Day 1 Studios, is set in the year 2161 and sees players reshape the battlefields in a futuristic conflict with global implications.
Described by Peter Hirschmann, vice president of product development at LucasArts, as a game that "dazzles on a visual level", he also claims that the game is so advanced that "unlike many other next-gen games on the market, Fracture simply isn’t possible in the previous generation of consoles.”
Jim Ward, president of LucasArts added, "Fracture represents the next step in this company initiative, complete with the intriguing story and compelling characters audiences expect of a LucasArts release."
Fracture will be released summer 2008.
