It was also revealed that Oscar-nominated actor Willem Dafoe has joined the Beyond: Two Souls cast, starring alongside Ellen Page as government scientist Nathan Dawkins.
The news of Dafoe's involvement is accompanied by a new gameplay trailer (above), which sees Page's character Jodie discuss her supernatural powers with Dawkins.
Speaking about the game's two acting leads, Beyond: Two Souls writer David Cage said: "Ellen and Willem were casted for their immense talent and they bring with them the same passion and dedication you would see in the movies they star in.
"Never before have I seen this calibre of acting performance in a video game."
Another video of Dafoe, who was linked with the project last year, shows the actor performing motion capture with Ellen Page and talking about his role in the game,
Beyond: Two Souls was unveiled at last year's E3 as the latest project from the studio behind Heavy Rain.
The game explores the mysteries of death and tackles the subject of what lies on the other side.
David Cage described the game as "emotional, mature, unique" and "epic", explaining that the game's story will be shaped by the choices that players make.
Beyond: Two Souls will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in October.
