'Destiny' trailer explores character design, development

By
Destiny has received a new trailer at the Games Developer Conference (GDC).

The latest Destiny video explores the development of the game's characters.

The trailer looks at the process of creating characters, from early sketches and concept art to fully-rendered 3D models.

Announced by Bungie in February, Destiny is a first-person shooter set in a persistent world based on a future version of our own solar system, where players create and customise their own characters and set out on a quest to gather loot and defeat enemies.

Players take on the role of Guardians, who must work together to defeat alien foes on Earth and beyond with the ultimate goal of reclaiming mankind's lost territory.

Destiny will also feature mini-quests, loot drops and drop-in, drop-out co-op play. The title will require an always-on internet connection.

The game has been confirmed for Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4, where it will ship with exclusive content.

Activision recently confirmed that Destiny will not be available by the end of 2013.
