Wii U Virtual Console lineup includes 'Super Mario World', 'F-Zero'

The Wii U Virtual Console launch lineup has been revealed by Nintendo.

Among the games launching with the service are Super Mario World, Punch-Out!! and F-Zero.



Balloon Fight, Kirby's Adventure, Donkey Kong Jr, Ice climber and Excitebike will also be available at launch.

A recently released Virtual Console trailer (above) suggests that Super Metroid, Wrecking Crew and Yoshi's Cookie will be released soon, while Mega Man and Picross are expected to follow.

Available now in North America, the Wii U Virtual Console will launch in Europe after a Wii U system update later this week.

NES and SNES titles will be available on day one, followed by Game Boy Advance titles in the near future.

Pricing for Virtual Console games will be the same as on the Wii, with NES titles available for £3.49 and £5.49 for SNES games. Discounts will be available for games already purchased on Wii, with NES games lowered to 99p and SNES titles £1.49.

The Wii U Virtual Console will also include standalone GamePad support.

Nintendo recently confirmed plans to release Super Nintendo role-playing game Earthbound on the Virtual Console.
