Call of Duty: Ghosts will be developed using a next-generation engine, a retail listing has suggested.

A product description on the Tesco Direct website suggests that the game will feature an all-new story, setting and cast, and take advantage of new technology.

"The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts," reads the product description (via AllGamesBeta).

"Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine."

The entry, which has now been removed, also lists the release date as November 4.

The retailer leaked alleged Call of Duty: Ghosts box artwork last week.

Infinity Ward is believed to be developing the title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, next-generation consoles and PC.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will allegedly take place in the future, but utilise current technology and weapons in line with a "major plot event".

The single-player campaign is said to include more destructible environments, with multiplayer maps featuring interactive areas and traps.

Activision is expected to unveil the game on May 1.
