Xbox One cloud provides three times the CPU, storage of core console

Xbox One's cloud provides three times the CPU and storage of one console, Microsoft has revealed.

Microsoft's Jeff Henshaw said that the Xbox One's cloud offers game developers three times the resources to create bigger levels.

"We're provisioning for developers for every physical Xbox One we build, we're provisioning the CPU and storage equivalent of three Xbox Ones on the cloud," claimed Henshaw.

"We're doing that flat out so that any game developer can assume that there's roughly three times the resources immediately available to their game, so they can build bigger, persistent levels that are more inclusive for players. They can do that out of the gate," he added.

Announced last week, Xbox One - described as an all-in-one "ultimate home entertainment system" - will be launched later this year.

While the system won't require an always-on connection, it must be connected to the internet every 24 hours.

Elsewhere, while Microsoft hasn't fully confirmed its policy on used games, a report suggested the firm and publishers will profit from all second-hand sales.

Xbox One will see 15 exclusive games launch in its first year, including Forza Motorsport 5 on day one.
