Xbox One pre-orders ahead of PS4 in UK

By
Xbox One pre-orders are ahead of the PlayStation 4, UK retailers have suggested.

One UK retailer claims that the Xbox One received more pre-orders in 24 hours than the PS4 has accrued since February, according to MCV.

The Xbox One has been pre-ordered more times than the PS4

However, despite the apparent popularity of Microsoft's upcoming device, other stores have reported a significant increase in PS4 pre-orders since the Xbox One reveal.

It is believed that many customers were waiting for both machines to be unveiled before making a decision.

The numbers may come as a surprise to those who are upset about Microsoft's used game policy and internet requirements.

Announced this week, Xbox One - described as an all-in-one "ultimate home entertainment system" - will be launched later this year.

While the system won't require an always-on connection, it must be connected to the internet every 24 hours.

Elsewhere, while Microsoft hasn't fully confirmed its policy on used games, a report suggested the firm and publishers will profit from all second-hand sales.

Xbox One will see 15 exclusive games launch in its first year, including Forza Motorsport 5 on day one.
