'Dead Rising 3' announced for Xbox One - E3 2013

By
Dead Rising 3 has been announced for Xbox One.

Capcom unveiled a new entry in its popular zombie series for the next-generation console during Microsoft's E3 press conference.

The game will take place in the city of Los Perdidos 72 hours after the series' zombie outbreak began, with players given the choice between two new protagonists.

As with previous entries in the series, players can pick up virtually any item they see and use it as a makeshift weapon.

The crafting mechanic from the earlier games will also make a comeback, with a sledgehammer-buzzsaw hybrid shown off during the E3 gameplay footage.

Vehicular segments will also make a return, and zombies will now cling on to cars and trucks when the player is behind the wheel, causing them to swerve off course.

Dead Rising 3 for Xbox One will also feature Xbox Smartglass support to carry out a range of commands, including calling in an airstrike.

A specific release date for the game is yet to be confirmed.
