Almost half of UK gamers are interested in reselling their digital purchases, a study has found.

The Download on Digital Report surveyed more than 11,400 consumers that have purchased video games and digital content within the last year.

The Xbox One was first announced alongside controversial used game restrictions.

The report found that 49% of UK consumers are interested in reselling their digital purchases after they are finished with them.

An even larger number, 55%, are open to buying 'used' digital products as a money-saving option.

These survey results come just weeks after Microsoft scrapped its online check-in and DRM policies in the upcoming Xbox One.

The original Xbox One would install games to the system and assign them to a player's profile, blocking them from being freely resold.

Microsoft reversed its policies in June, announcing that the console will function as the Xbox 360, with no restrictions on selling or buying used games.

The Xbox One will launch in November for £429 in the UK.
