'F1 2013' announced by Codemasters, introduces Classic Content

By
F1 2013 has been announced by Codemasters for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year.

The latest in the long-running racing series will introduce new Classic Content with iconic cars, drivers and courses introduced by broadcaster Murray Walker.

It will focus on '80s cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari, drivers Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger and classic tracks Brands Hatch and Circuito De Jerez.

It will feature this year's updated content, with new drivers, updated rules, tyre changes and remodelled handling.

Elsewhere, there is an expended Young Driver Test based at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina, to ease new players into F1 racing and offer experienced drivers advanced score challenges.

Mid-session saves will be introduced for long race weekends, and additional RaceNet integration is available for online tracking and community support.

Finally, the EGO game engine has been tweaked to deliver improved visuals and driver intelligence.

F1 2013 will be available in a regular edition and a premium F1 2013: Classic Edition, featuring two additional packs with '90s content and tracks.

The F1 2013: Classic Edition content will be available to regular owners as premium downloadable content after release.

Earlier this year, Codemasters released a statement confirming that redundancies would not affect its F1 franchise.
