YouTube app lands on Nintendo 3DS

A YouTube application has launched for Nintendo 3DS.

Available as a free download in the Nintendo eShop, the app allows 3DS users to discover and watch videos and channels on YouTube.

Users can also sign in to the video-sharing website to access their subscribed channels, playlists and favourites.

Akin to how the Wii U console's updated YouTube app works, YouTube on 3DS enables users to search for content via the handheld's touchscreen while a video is being played on the larger screen.

Next month, the 3DS will be getting a Miiverse app that won't permit friend requests or allow users to exchange private messages.
