Flappy Bird creator receives death threats on Twitter

By
The creator of Flappy Bird has received death threats on Twitter after deciding to remove the game from app stores.

As spotted by Twitter user Eli Langer, a number of people have posted death threats or suggestions that the developer commits suicide.

Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird was pulled from sale because creator Dong Nguyen 'couldn't take' the attention the game received.

It launched on the App Store in May last year, but soared in popularity after its Google Play release in January.

The game rocketed to the top of the App Store and Google Play charts, and set Facebook and Twitter feeds ablaze with boasts of high scores and discussions of strategies.

iPhones with Flappy Bird pre-installed have since gone on sale on eBay.
