FIFA 15's new features "almost impossible" on Xbox 360, PS3

By
Many of FIFA 15's new features are "almost impossible" to have on Xbox 360 and PS3, EA has said.

Producer Sebastian Enrique explained that PS4, Xbox One and PC's added processing power and memory enables the team to do things it couldn't do before, such as the player emotions and the TV-style presentation system.

"I'm leading the Gen 4 [PS4, Xbox One and PC] team, and as soon as I started, I told the guys - forget about Gen 3 [Xbox 360, PS3], that doesn't exist anymore," he told Digital Spy.

"Not because it doesn't exist, but from my point of view, if you've got a Gen 4 console, you want a Gen 4 experience.

"Focus on this, don't think how you can diminish the feature in order to make it work on Gen 3. Leave that to the Gen 3 guys to figure it out, you just think, how do you do the best thing possible on Gen 4? That's our mindset."

While emotions and TV-style presentation won't appear on Xbox 360 and PS3, "part of the new" teammate intelligence - which allows them to contextualise the progress of the match and react accordingly - will be there.

"We're going to be announcing [features] at a later date, spelling out what's on Gen 4 and Gen 3," Enrique explained.

"Gen 3 isn't going to be a roster and kit update."

He added: "The Gen 3 [Xbox 360, PS3] team, they work next to us, and they're picking as much as they can to apply it to the Gen 3 platforms, but not everything is coming there.

"All the TV-style presentation system, all of that was built from scratch for Gen 4. All those things, it's almost impossible on Gen 3."

Revealed this week at E3 2014, FIFA 15 has features based around the tagline 'Feel the Game', introducing player emotions, improved visuals and revamped team intelligence.

Following a different version last year, the PC edition of FIFA 14 will be the same as it is on Xbox One and PS4.

FIFA 15 will be available on PC and current and next-generation consoles later this year.
