Angelina Jolie to appear in new game

French publisher Ubisoft has revealed it plans to release a game based on director Robert Zemeckis movie Beowulf.

The news was unveiled at the firm's Ubidays event currently taking place in Paris, with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot saying: "We think it will be an amazing game."

The movie, based on a classic old English legend, stars Ray Winstone as Beowulf, as well as Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins, who are both signed up to appear in the game.

The plot states that "Beowulf must kill the monster Grendel who has been pillaging the local villages, once this is done Grendel's mother would no doubt come for revenge".

The game is being developed by Ubisoft's French team which worked on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, but little detail on the gameplay and the platforms it will appear on was made available during the press conference.

Beowulf opens at cinemas November 30, with the game expected to be released around the same time.
