Sony has unveiled its latest PlayStation 3 firmware update, offering the ability to upscale all PS2, PSOne and DVD content to near HD quality.
This new feature is seen as a key ingredient to impress high-definition hungry users eager to get the best from the system.
Once the update has been downloaded, the PlayStation 3 will have the ability to upscale all content to 1080p which, in theory, will improve the visual quality of all back-catalogue games and media.
The update also offers a remote access feature, allowing those with a PSP to access their PS3 from anywhere in the world via a wi-fi connection. PSP owners, however, will also need to update its firmware which should be available next week.
In addition, the PS3 update will also enhance the console's PC media streaming and offer compatibility with various Epson printers giving users the chance to print photos from their PS3 hard drive or memory cards.
