PS3 rumble controller in development?
Published Wednesday, Jun 20 2007, 09:57 BST | By David Gibbon
A report on Innerbits.com has suggested that Sony is working on a new PlayStation 3 controller complete with a rumble feature.
The site claims that "two independent sources at Sony" said they have been working on prototypes for several months.
Trade site GamesIndustry.biz, which approached Sony for their reaction to the rumours, said the Japanese giant declined to comment.
But following a legal battle with rumble creator Immersion Corporation over patent infringements, Sony has now signed a new agreement with the firm adding further weight to the possibility of a new rumble pad.
After singing the new deal, Sony boss Kaz Hirai said: "We are very excited about our new partnership with Immersion and the potential for new and innovative products incorporating their technologies."
