While Portable PlayStation owners eagerly await the September release of WipeOut Pulse, a report by 1up.com suggests Sony is planning to release a downloadable version of the game on PS3.
During a chat with Game Director Tony Buckley, the site discovered the PS3 iteration will be entitled WipeOut HD. The report claims it will feature an online multiplayer mode and will come complete with a high-definition makeover.
An official announcement of the game will be made at E3 or in August.
WipeOut HD is said to be a 'taster' for PS3 owners, with Sony planning to release a 'major' WipeOut game for the format in 2008.
