Sony to cut PS3 price later this month?

A recent advertisment by US retailer Circuit City, which points to a price drop for the next-generation console, has sparked speculation that Sony will cut the price of the PlayStation 3 during the forthcoming E3 show in Santa Monica which kicks off July 10.
The price drop is expected to be a Sony initiative - and not just a promotional offer from the major US chain.
The PlayStation 3 currently retails for $599 (£298) in North America, but a price drop would see the system on sale for $499 (£248).
Sony refused to comment on the US price reduction and whether such a move would occur in the UK.
