According to GamesIndustry, Sony has announced plans to make a major announcement this Thursday regarding the UK PS3.
Rumours indicate the news will be linked to the price cut of the PS3 in North America and the introduction of a new 80Gb model.
However, trade paper MCV claims the news will be "value-related" and will probably be a money-saving software or peripherals bundle.
Sony has confirmed a price cut of $100 off the price of its 60Gb PS3 in America making it $499. In the UK, the PS3 currently retails at £425 ($856) meaning it is more expensive than in other territories.
