The first title, in development for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, will be an action adventure that links story development to the player's actions.
The duo are also working on a Wii-exclusive minigame collection that will enable users to build structures with blocks using the Wii Remote.
"I am a gamer myself and game development has always intrigued me. Now I've been able to jump in and do it, enjoying the creative collaboration with the EA LA team on our first two games and I feel we have two incredibly unique projects in development," said Spielberg
EA's general manager Neil Young added: "Steven's vision as both a storyteller and a gamemaker makes partnering with him an incredible experience.
"Together we're making games that are unique and that we feel will each move the medium in their own way, [games] that we hope can also move people emotionally."
EA has yet to announce release dates for both titles.
