Nintendo's leading handheld games system has overtaken the PlayStation 2 and PC for the first time after unit sales and market value topped the gaming league.
Sales of the DS system along with a stunning performance by leading titles such as the two latest Pokemon games and More Brain Training saw the DS become the market-leading format last week.
Overall, it was also the most successful week for games sales since Easter, with six games in the top 10 belonging to Nintendo formats DS and WII.
Wii hardware sales also saw the most successful week of the year so far, as did the PlayStation 3 after the launch of the new 'Starter Packs'.
