The Nintendo DS can now be used as an optical mouse after the Japanese arm announced the release of a new slide sensor.
The add-on also comes bundled with a new game called Slide Adventure: Mag Kid, which is based around a small robot that has to reassemble itself from salvaged enemies.
Thew new device, which comes just a week after Nintendo filed a patent to create a motion-sensing Nintendo DS 2, is currently only available in Japan.
Nintendo Europe refused to comment on whether the device and game will be released in the UK.
