Developer applauds PS3 Blu-Ray discs
Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, has expressed his fondness for the extra storage space Blu-Ray discs offer over the standard DVD format.

Speaking at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, Rein was discussing Epic's Unreal Tournament 3 title, when he made his comments on Sony's preferred media format.

Rein said: "Blu-Ray has definitely given us a lot of legroom," but on the Xbox 360 version he warned, "we may have fewer maps on the 360".

He added: "If you think down the road, well maybe the next Unreal Tournament beyond this one, on Blu-ray disc, we might fill the whole damn disc with all the cool stuff the mod makers make."

Unreal Tournament 3 will be released on PlayStation 3 in November, with the Xbox 360 and PC versions not expected until 2008.
