Activision has announced it has signed up Poison frontman Bret Michaels to appear as the lead singer in the firm's forthcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock game.

Tracks including 'Talk Dirty to Me' and 'Go That Far' will be sung by the famed star, who participated in motion capture to record his signature moves for the game.

"When Activision asked me to do this, I was honoured...are you kidding me? This game totally rocks!" said Michaels. "I gave them my signature moves, basically did my thing and they captured it. It was really cool."

A spokesman for Activision added: "In order to recreate Michaels in the game, full body, facial and clothing scans were taken to create an authentic in-game character."

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be published this autumn on PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
