'Halo 3' makes a record £17m in week one
Microsoft's acclaimed Halo 3 pumped £17 million into UK retail during its first week on sale, the publisher has revealed.

The epic game made up 68% of all Xbox 360 titles sold, as the format recorded its highest ever software sales week.

Halo 3 was also responsible for seeing Xbox 360 hardware sales more than double, selling more consoles than the Nintendo Wii for the first time in 26 weeks.

The title also lived up to Microsoft's claim that it was "The Biggest Entertainment Launch of All Time" in the US, after taking a staggering $170 million during its first day on sale.
