The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has appealed to gamers to vote for their favourite title in the PC World Gamers' Award.
The category, the only one at this year's BAFTA 2007 Video Game Awards that will be decided by the public, will see the winner announced at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, London on Tuesday, October 23.
Games including the highly-acclaimed Xbox 360 release Gears of War, PlayStation 3 debut title Resistance: Fall of Man and DS best-seller Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training, help make up the seven-strong shortlist.
Hilary Bevan Jones, Chairman of the Academy, said: “The great thing about the PC World Gamers’ Award shortlist is that it reflects the real diversity of games being played by the public, and I am sure everyone will look forward to tuning in to watch the ceremony on November 4 at 11pm on E4 to see which one is victorious.”
The full PC World Gamers' Award shortlist features:
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training on DS (Nintendo)
FIFA 07 on PS2 (EA Sports)
Football Manager 2007 on PC (Sega)
Gears of War on Xbox 360 (Microsoft)
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on PSP (Take-Two)
Resistance: Fall of Man on PS3 (Sony)
Wii Play on Nintendo Wii (Nintendo)
Entrants may cast their vote online at www.obsessedwithgames.co.uk with all voters eligible to win a range of prizes, including four pairs of tickets to the Awards show, a day at EA’s development studios and the top 10 chart games.
