Nintendo inundated with Wii Ware games

The eagerly-awaited Wii Ware download service has already proven a hit, with over 100 games proposals from development firms, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced.
Wii Ware, which was first unveiled in June, will offer short, creative games, akin to those appearing on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, providing both established companies and independent developers the chance to release original titles.
"We've already received proposals for over 100 titles from software development companies,” Iwata said at a press conference.
“We've made a platform for developing software at low cost, and would like to offer a new business chance based around a battle of ideas."
Titles already confirmed for release on Wii Ware include Pokemon Ranch Channel, Dr. Mario, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Bomberman.
Wii Ware, which will launch in 2008, will be featured as part of the Wii Shop Channel and will allow users to download games using Wii Points.
