Available for download now via the PlayStation Network, the patch promises to repair a number of bugs, improve weapon balancing, offer players the chance to play password-protected custom games and allow users to take in-game screenshots using a USB keyboard.
In addition, the update offers support for the forthcoming Dual-Shock 3 gamepad, which is scheduled for release Spring 2008.
Resistance: Fall of Man, famed for its battle with Manchester Cathedral over illegal use of copyright images, has proved to be of Sony's most popular launch titles. It won numerous awards, including IGN Game of the Year 2006 and Best First-Person Shooter.
A sequel is now in development, which will be set in the USA and feature cities including San Francisco and Chicago, with a late 2008 release pencilled in.
