The 10pm nightly broadcast, which will be begin on December 24, will see 12 teams of professional gamers battle it out on titles such as FIFA 07, Project Gotham Racing 3, Counter-Strike: Source and Dead or Alive 4.
The action, which will see the teams compete for a $1 million dollar prize fund, will take place at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, with the UK sending two teams named the London Mint and Birmingham Salvo.
Speaking about the teams entering the contest, presenter Dave Berry said: "Some of these guys will go on to be professional game testers and will get paid silly money. Companies will sponsor them and they'll get to travel the world. It's a boy's dream. The players take it really seriously. They train rigorously and, while it sounds comical, it's actually really intense."
