With Sony keen to close ties between the PlayStation and Sony Ericsson brand, the firm has given its strongest indication yet that a PlayStation mobile phone could be released.
Rumours of such a device first emerged earlier in the year, but Sony later denied the story. Now, however, the firm's co-chief operating officer has hinted it may yet happen.
Speaking to The Economic Times, SCE co-chief operating officer Jim Ryan said: “Convergence with the two arms working together is definitely plausible. It is hugely intellectually seductive to have a console-oriented phone.
“While the Cybershot and Walkman are better-selling brands from the Sony fold, Sony Ericsson and PlayStation would make a strong success story for Sony.”
