Band seeks compensation over 'Guitar Hero'

US rock band The Romantics are taking legal action against Activision, Harmonix and RedOctane after a cover version of one of their songs was featured in Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s.
The Romantics, who adopted the name after forming on Valentine's Day in 1977, claims the re-recording of the 1980s hit 'What I Like About You' is "virtually indistinguishable from the authentic version" and that it confuses consumers into believing they recorded the track and endorsed the product.
The band, whose music was influenced by The Who, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, are seeking compensatory and punitive damages, and are asking that the court prevents further distribution of the game.
