Greenpeace: Nintendo is worst company ever

Environmental group Greenpeace has published its latest Guide to Greener Electronics, describing Nintendo as the worst company it has ever rated.

The publication, which ranks the top 18 global electronics manufacturers for ecological awareness, placed Sony as the top performing games firm.

Nintendo's case is the first time Greenpeace has awarded a company zero out of 10 points, with the group attacking the Japanese giant's policies on chemical management, PVC use, electric waste and product return.

Sony, meanwhile, scored 7.3 out of 10, winning praise for its chemical management and e-waste efforts after it reportedly recovered 36,000 tons of unwanted products from its customers.

Microsoft, who also performed badly scoring just 2.7 out of 10, was condemned for its PVC usage and returns policies.
