Striking Hollywood movie writers may soon turn to scripting video games, according to Variety.

Members of the Writers Guild of America, who have been on strike for four weeks, are demanding more money from DVD sales and media downloads. The Guild is allowing its members to write for games developers during the dispute, meaning the best talent Hollywood has to offer could soon be working in the industry.

"It has been an interesting shift," one actor's agent told Variety. "The literary agents are now saying, 'Why don't we get our clients [into games studios] during the strike?' even though in the past they thought the money wasn't good enough or the work was too demanding."

The WGA has recently established a video game-writing prize for its upcoming awards ceremony.
