Activision, the publisher behind global hit Guitar Hero 3, has announced it has teamed up with Discovery Communications to produce a series of games based on the broadcaster's nature TV shows.
The first title from the deal will be Meerkat Manor, which is currently the highest-rated programme on Animal Planet in the US with four million viewers regularly tuning in.
No other details on the title have yet been announced, but Discovery Chief David Zaslav told Reuters the idea behind the deal was that Discovery is "really trying to get away from being a cable company and into being a content company”.
The first titles from the agreement are expected to be released towards the end of 2008.
