Online rumours on gaming blog Ars Technica suggested a 120GB PS3 - complete with DualShock 3 controller - will be released in North America.
However, Sony was quick to quash rumours of a UK release after a spokesman from the firm told GamesIndustry: "We do not currently have any plans to release a 120GB PlayStation 3 in the UK."
Sony has previously said it would release a PS3 with a larger hard drive, should consumers demand it, to take advantage of downloadable content from the PlayStation Network.
