'Unreal Tournament III' date confirmed

The highly-anticipated next instalment in the Unreal Tournament series is to be released on PS3 on February 22, according to one online report.

Unreal Tournament III is the futuristic update to the long-running first-person shooter franchise and its release date has been confirmed, claims CVG.

Retailers also confirmed the PlayStation 3 release date of February 22, but a date for the Xbox 360 version of the game is yet to be announced.

Developed by Epic Games, the title will hail the franchise's debut on next-generation systems using the latest Unreal Engine III.
